Tuesday update – it is not looking like we are going to get lifts spinning this week. We have not had enough snowmaking opportunities over the last couple of days, with temperature inversion and high humidity limiting progress. The forecast for the rest of this week is more of the same, and with high winds expected at the weekend, it just not going to happen this week. However, the good news is that there are cold temperatures and snow expected from Sunday onwards, so we are hopeful that this will be what we need to kick start winter. We are nearly there with snow, and just need another 10-20cm of natural or snow making to start spinning lifts. Porters Lodge will be opening at 2pm today, and snowplay is open. It's going to be a beautiful day in the mountains, with clear skies and light winds, so head on up to Porters Lodge, Restaurant and Bar to enjoy the views and sample the new winter menu. Road access to the ski area is closed at the gate just past the lodge. We have machinery working on the road. Looking forward to seeing you all soon! Keep the snow dances going!
