I'm going for a skiing trip for the weekend to both Remarkables and Coronet Peak.
I will be driving from Christchurch to Queenstown. I have space for 2 people in my car Toyota Rav 4 (4WD).
Keen to share the road with people going that direction.

Thanks so much to everyone who came up to Remarks this winter, it was a real pleasure to have you here and share this beautiful mountain with you. Big shout out to our wonderful staff - you’ve been amazing this year, thanks and all the best. We wish everyone a great summer and look forward to seeing you in winter 2026! Now that we are closed the ski area is the backcountry. Natural and man-made hazards exist and are unmarked and unprotected. Snow safety has finished, the snow is uncontrolled. The road tollgate is operating, but the road is not cleared or managed. See below for current road conditions. There is no Ski Patrol or Roads crew and no rescue or support services on the hill or the road - in case of emergency dial 111. If you are venturing out, we encourage you to check the Avalanche Advisory (https://www.avalanche.net.nz/region/10) for the latest conditions and ensure you are prepared and equipped for safe backcountry travel. Enjoy, and be safe out there :).
