Porters is closed today. The next two days have the full range of Canterbury spring weather forecasted - kicking off with rain and winds of up to 200km/h today, followed by more wind and some snow tomorrow. Because it's going to be too windy to groom our slopes or run our lifts, and we don't want to replace the windscreens on our really nice Mitsubishi Tritons (thanks Morrison Mitsubishi) due to airborne rocks, we are going to stay off the mountain today and tomorrow, get some much needed wax on our skis and snowboards, have a well deserved sleep in, and hopefully be back at it on Friday to enjoy some fresh snow with our lucky guests!
