Going for short ski at Hutt. Starting from Dallington/ near The Palms heading across or around the city (ring road) with pickups at any shopping parking area, petrol station, bus stop, residential address etc more or less on the way anywhere in the central or western suburbs. Pickups typically around the 8:30 to 9:00am timeframe depending on where passengers are, coordinated for an ETA at skifield of 10:50 am. ( Going there via Methven to pickup some skis, but returning direct via Bealey Rd). For those with transport I can pickup at the speed sign, 100m West of Yaldhurst Rd Russley Rd intersection at 9am

Returning a little early 330pm which gives us around 4.5 hours skiing.

Its going to be a windy day but still ok- similar to Wed I think which was a great day.

Road info

Chains are required on ALL vehicles from Info Booth this morning. With snow in today's forecast, we want to make sure all vehicles have chains fitted if we need to leave the mountain early. Heavy snow clearing machinery will be operating on upper sections of the road. Alpine Sports self-fit chain hire will be available from our Info Booth. Please maintain two-way access at all times and observe the 40km/h maximum speed limit. If you have a long line of traffic behind you, please pull over and allow faster vehicles to pass.

Weather Comment

As of 11:35 AM, we’ve received 6cm of fresh snow, and there’s more on the way. Snow is forecast to continue throughout the day, clearing by late afternoon. It’s shaping up to be a fun powder day. Visibility may be limited at times, so make sure you’re wearing your low-light lens goggles and helmet. Our patrol teams are actively monitoring snow accumulation across both the ski area and the access road. The road may go on hold later this morning for control work. If snowfall exceeds our threshold, we may need to leave the mountain early. The Triple Towers, Nor'West Express and Summit Six are now open!  All upper lifts will be subject to visibility conditions throughout the day.
