Porters is open with all lifts spinning. At 5:45am we have cloudy skies, light to moderate winds and 4 degrees in the base area. There are moderate winds on the upper mountain. This is forecast to continue throughout the day, with cloud rolling through at times. There are great snow conditions on the upper mountain. Sundance is ungroomed, McNultys has been groomed wide and with great cord will be the pick of the day first thing. Easy Street, The Platter and Magic Carpet areas have all been groomed overnight. The snow on these areas will be soft and forgiving, and will be the ideal places for working on your technique. If you’re looking for a lesson, pop into our ticket office and book a spot with one of our instructors – we have options for all ages and abilities. Kids 10 and under ski for free at Porters. Porters Lodge Restaurant and Bar, just 6km up our access road, will be open for coffee from 9am, and meals from 11am. Our access road is chain free today, however during winter we advise all vehicles to carry chains. Our shuttle service will be running return trips throughout the day, picking up at Chain Bay 2 (and the lodge on request) at 8:45am, 9:30am, 10am, 10:30am and 11:00am. Return shuttles will be available all afternoon.
