Keen to share petrol costs and get another 1 or 2 people up the mountain in the one car. Thinking $30 pp contribution. If you could get to Yaldhurst rd for pickup. Confirm time later but we're always keen to do first lifts last lifts. Toyota Alphard 4WD with chains and plenty of experience on access road.

Information
Porters is open today, and all lifts are spinning! Thankfully, Porters has some of the biggest and steepest inbounds terrain in New Zealand, and whilst there isn’t a whole lot of snow on these faces at the moment, they did a great job yesterday of acting as windbreaks, creating sheltered conditions on our lower mountain slopes, with soft fun snow, and good times all around. The good news is, today is looking like it could be more of the same!! And even better, we have had a bit of new snow overnight, with a cheeky 5cm in the base area, probably more higher up. Get at it while it’s still school holidays!! Our road is now chain-free, chains should be carried. Our shuttle service will be running return trips throughout the day, picking up at Chain Bay 2 (and the lodge on request) at 8:45am, 9:30am, 10am, 10:30am and 11:00am. Return shuttles will be available all afternoon. At 10:30am we have patchy high cloud, light to moderate winds in the base area, stronger on the upper mountain. It is currently 4 degrees in the base area. These conditions are expected to continue throughout the day. We have groomed the intermediate trails through McNultys overnight, and expect these to provide some great fun skiing and riding today. Ungroomed areas on the upper mountain will be sporty early, with a mixture of icy surfaces and small drifts of new snow. Our groomers have laid some great cord on Easy Street, the platter and magic carpet areas this morning. We expect the snow to again soften up over the morning, and with a bit of wind transport there could be some fun pockets to be found. It’s going to be a breezy day on the upper mountain, and lift operations may be affected today. If you’re looking for a lesson, pop into our ticket office and book a spot with one of our instructors – we have options for all ages and abilities. Kids 10 and under ski for free at Porters. Porters Lodge Restaurant and Bar, just 6km up our access road, will be open for coffee from 9am, and meals from 11am. Pop in for apres after enjoying a day on our slopes. If you have a NZSki Superpass, you are able to use this at Porters.
