Road info
There is currently no chain call however we are parking 2WD's in carpark 4 due to icy conditions. Please carry chains on your journey up & down the mountain road. It always pays to be prepared. If you’re not sure how to fit chains, our Roads crew have put together this handy video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9rKZ_86A4I
Weather Comment
Ata mārie e te whānau. (Good morning to one & all.) Haere mai ki Kawarau Maunga. (Welcome to The Remarkables) Fantastic Friday will be just that... FANTASTIC! Ka mau te pai! (That's excellent!) The whetū (stars) are shining bright at this early hour of the morning and the forecast is looking great for today. We're getting a break from the wind and the almighty Rā (sun) will be shining its rays down on us. Mīharo! (Awesome!) Be sure to wrap up warm as the temps are forecast to be makariri (cold). There is some great skiing and riding to be had mountain wide. Please adhere to the Snow Responsibility Code and obey all signage across the maunga. Most importantly, tākarokaro (have fun) and kia nui ō te rā

Come on up and support these shredders absolutely getting after it and making the most of the preferable conditions. The venue will be held on both the upper and lower Highway with Cooper's Lake being the best location for spectators.
