Mt Hutt Snow Report

Status

Open

Road

Chains or 4WD

Snow

110cm — 170cm

Road info

Chains will be required on 2WD from Rakaia Saddle to being with. As soon as the sun gets onto the upper section of the road, we expect the black ice through that section to melt and then we should be able to step down from this requirement. Self-fit chain hire is available at Chain Bay 1 (Info Booth). If you see a line of traffic forming behind you, please pull to the side to allow faster vehicles past. Speed limit on our access road is 40km/h. Please keep to the left to maintain two-way access at all times.

Weather Comment

Fine weather, clouding over in the evening. Light winds.

Information

The skies are clear and the sun is out. We've got plenty of fresh corduroy and off-piste terrain open. Be sure to check signage at the top of summit for any terrain updates. It's still a bit firm but the snow has been softening with the sun out. Come up and enjoy a fun day in the mountains. We look forward to seeing you all very soon!
