Snow and cloud clearing during the morning to a nice afternoon.
Information
We are OPEN Wednesday the 5th of August. We have received 20cm+ in this last snowstorm of super cold and dry powder snow which will be wind affected and in drifts around the basin. -15 degrees in the Terako Basin so we are expecting to have everything a bit frozen! We will have to wait until the snow eases after we have finished to clear the road in the early morning of drifts and will open lifts in stages when we can after we have de-iced and pushed out around the lower lifts. Please be patient and expect a delayed opening. The Terako Rope tows will be on hold as we will have a lot of work to do to get them spinning again after the strong wind on Monday and this polar blast! Only 4wds/ Awds with chains fitted at the village gate on the access road tomorrow please sorry no 2wds are to access. The road has an ice layer underneath and snow on top. There are still seats on the shuttle you can book @ mtlyfordstation.co.nz Dress warm and come prepared as we expect the cold to hang around during the day. NZ Superpass is now redeemable at the office with us and of course don't forget the almighty Chill Pass! See you on the mountains!
